Donation Challenge
Dear Supporters
In the past, the Builder Show has provided an opportunity for the Board to raise funds for the Franklin County Builders Association Scholarship Fund. For a long time, the funds were raised from concession stand proceeds. Recently we have conducted a Silent Auction at the show with all proceeds going to the Scholarship Fund. This year the board has decided to try something new. We have two community business men, one is Barry Barrick of Rockdale Drafting LLC and the other wishes to remain anonymous, who have generously committed to match funds raised for the scholarship fund. They are issuing a challenge to the community to spend their money. One will match the first $1,500 and the second to match the next $1,500. Wow, what an amazing gift. That means we have the potential to raise $6,000 for the scholarship fund this year!
FCBA awards scholarships annually to local students who are attending college or trade school. There are three levels of eligibility to be considered for a scholarship and the level of eligibility determines the amount of the scholarship. The levels are as follows:
1. A member, child of a member, employee of a member, or a child of a member’s employee continuing education at a college or trade school in a field related to residential construction
2. A member, child of a member, employee of a member, child of a member’s employee continuing education at a college or trade school in a field not related to residential construction
3. A community member continuing education at a college or trade school in a field related to residential construction
FCBA awarded three scholarships in 2019 totaling $3,000.00, two scholarships in 2021 totaling $1,000.00, one scholarship in 2022 totaling $500.00, one scholarship in 2023 totaling $500.00 and three scholarships in 2024 totaling $1,500.

All donors, unless they indicate they wish to remain anonymous, will be listed on the FCBA website as donors to the scholarship fund.
